Remove the wall. Gain a home.
Taking down the wall between the kitchen and sitting room is one of the most impactful renovation decisions you can make. More light, more space, more life. We handle the structural work, the new kitchen, the flooring — everything.
This is the first question we answer at the site visit. Most walls between kitchen and living room in Portuguese apartments and houses from the 1970s–2000s are partition walls — not structural — and can be removed without a structural engineer or special licence.
If the wall is load-bearing, we can still open it up with a steel or concrete lintel — it takes a bit more planning and a certified engineer, but the result is the same. We manage both scenarios and won't give you a quote until we know exactly what we're dealing with.
If you're abroad, we coordinate this remotely — we visit, assess and report back by video call before proceeding.
We assess the wall type, check for pipes and cables running through it, and give you a clear answer on whether it's structural. All findings shared by video call if you're abroad.
We propose the open-plan layout, kitchen design, flooring and lighting. A single fixed quote covering all trades — structural, electrical, plumbing, kitchen fitting, tiling.
Wall removal or lintel installation. Certified where required. All debris removed from the property.
New kitchen units, worktop, appliances, sink and hob. The kitchen is designed to work as part of the open space — not as a separate room bolted onto it.
Continuous flooring across kitchen and living area. Matching or complementary wall finishes. Lighting designed for the combined space.
