Good plasterboard work is invisible. Bad plasterboard creaks, warps and draws attention for all the wrong reasons. At Ferreira Obras, we install with precision — and deliver ready to paint.
What we do
Plasterboard — also known as drywall or gypsum board — is one of the most versatile materials in modern construction. It lets us build partition walls without heavy masonry, create false ceilings with any geometry, and clad walls for better thermal and acoustic performance. We work with steel framing, board, and jointing compound. The result is a clean, flat surface that's ready for paint.
Divide rooms without masonry — no concrete, no rubble, no weeks of disruption. Perfect for creating extra bedrooms, home offices, walk-in wardrobes, or splitting open-plan spaces. Available with or without enhanced acoustic insulation.
Hide pipework, cabling, and air conditioning units behind a seamless plasterboard ceiling. We also create coffer ceilings, light recesses, and custom geometries that transform the feel of any room — with or without thermal and acoustic insulation.
Cold exterior walls or uneven surfaces? We clad them with insulated plasterboard panels, improving comfort, reducing energy loss, and giving you a perfectly flat finish to work with.
Every installation is completed with joint tape, finishing compound, and a final sand — delivered smooth and ready to paint the next day. No visible seams, no ridges, no uneven planes.
Right tool for the job
Plasterboard isn't the answer to everything — but where it fits, it's hard to beat for speed, cost and finish quality. Here are the situations where we'd typically recommend it:
Need an extra bedroom or a home office? A plasterboard partition goes up in 1–2 days with minimal mess and maximum impact.
Exposed pipes, cables or AC ducts on the ceiling? A false ceiling solves it cleanly — and gives you a flawless surface to work with.
Cold exterior walls in winter? Insulated plasterboard cladding cuts heat loss significantly without the disruption of full-wall insulation systems.
Double-boarded partitions with acoustic mineral wool significantly reduce noise transmission — ideal for bedrooms, home studios, or office spaces.
How we work
We visit the property to assess the space, understand your goals, and define the right solution — framing type, board specification, insulation, and finish level.
We measure accurately and provide a detailed, fixed-price quote. What we agree is what you pay — no surprises at the end of the job.
We build the steel frame, install any insulation, and fix the boards. Every panel is plumbed and levelled — we don't leave until it's right.
Jointing tape, finishing compound, sanding — delivered smooth and ready to paint. We clean up completely and do a final walkthrough with you before closing the job.

Common questions
Yes, with the right fixings and reinforcements. For lighter loads like pictures or small shelves, we use specialist plasterboard anchors. For heavier items such as wall-mounted TVs or suspended cabinets, we reinforce the internal frame during installation. Let us know your requirements before we start and we'll build it in from the beginning.
A simple partition wall typically takes 1 to 2 days. A false ceiling can take 2 to 4 days depending on the area and complexity. Larger projects may take 1 to 2 weeks. We always include an estimated timeline in the quote.
By default, we deliver the plasterboard ready to paint — with joint tape and finishing compound applied and sanded smooth. Painting can be included as an additional service. Ask us for a combined quote.
Plasterboard is a gypsum board fixed to a metal frame — fast, clean, and ideal for creating new structures. Spray plaster is applied directly onto existing walls to smooth and level them. Both have their place, and we'll advise which suits your specific situation best.
